A hybrid system combines PV, grid, battery and loads under one energy-management design. The goal is not merely to add a battery. Backup loads, outage duration, simultaneous power, solar generation and grid behaviour are defined as operating scenarios.
Without a properly separated critical-load panel, the battery may be oversized or fail to deliver the expected backup duration. Starting power for air conditioning, pumps, motors and resistive loads must also be assessed.
Usable battery energy depends on nominal capacity, permitted depth of discharge, temperature, cycle efficiency and ageing allowance. Proposals should compare usable energy, continuous power, cycle warranty, communications compatibility and service terms, not only the kWh label.
Battery placement must follow manufacturer requirements for ventilation, temperature, access, fire safety and electrical protection. The final location is confirmed after the survey.
